Warsaw, 17th of August 1944. The Warsaw uprisings are in full swing. In order to help suppress the revolt, the German army sends one of the 60mm mortars "Karl Gerät" named Ziu by rail. After a long journey, it has finally arrived and prepares to drive to the front. Transporting such a large weapon is a big logistic operation! Is is a small wonder therefore that, while Ziu is already en route, the train that brought it here is still being unloaded. All this under the ever watchfull eye of a camera from a Propaganda Kompagnie, ever ready to show the actions of the German Army in the cinemas. Finishing this dio took me 2,5 years, with many delays and detours in order to finish other projects. But finally it is finished. A good observer will notice all kinds of small scenes telling their own little stories, together painting the big picture. There are 11 vehicles, more than 20 figures and numerous accessoiries on the dio.

Good LORD man! Where' does a guy start with all of THAT??!! The work you've put into this whole thing is mind blowing Erwin. I really get a lot out of looking at dios like this with all that's going on and the different types of vehicles/ armor subjects. I've gotta hand it to you on sticking with it after 2-1/2 years because it takes a mountain of commitment and patience to pull something like this off and still stay focused on it after that amount of time. Excellent work!!!!

Thank you very much for the compliments! I guess it started with me buying the Karl and ammo panzer... Then some rail vehicles and trying to figure out how to get them in a dio. Not in one per se, but eventually my brain manages to get them together in (what I think) a realistic scene...

LOL! Dioramas seem to take on a mind of their own as they are being pieced together.

True... Somehow new ideas or additions to the original ideas seem to keep popping into mind...
