Your photo isn’t showing up. Where are you posting it from?
On a historical point, Eagle Claw was in 1980, not 1983. The Iranian Embassy Hostage situation lasted from November 1979 to January 1981.

Stikpusher,
Corrected in my post. I will say I did know that, but took my info from the Furball decals sheet (silly me).

That is a mighty fine looking build. The Phantom is a favorite, but all the nooks and rannies scare me...

Thank you all, and noted Stikpusher. Darned Furball! I tend to overweather, something I'm always trying to restrain at. I did want to use a black base technique on this, and really see what I could do with it. I did have fun with it, though, and though heavily weathered, I think I kept it even looking.

Looks good to me but I am another guy that likes to weather! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Many modelers would mask off that red and lay down a beautifully even coat. Then real life shows up in a picture!

Yup, just like invasion stripes, or other hastily applied markings... us modelers tend to do them much more neatly than happened in real life at forward units. Factory or depot level paint work is one thing, field applied paint completely different.

Many times all ya got to go with is what the instruction sheet tells ya; having faith in the manufacturer comes naturally. It's only later one finds out they could be full of it.
A bang up job on this model sir

Some very good weathering and paint modulation going on with this build Andrew. Very convincing build IMO and most certainly looks the part. How long did this build take you to complete Andrew?

This one was, usually about 4 hrs per day, about 6 or 7 weeks. I'm pretty lucky to have a snowed in winter with little else to do and a very patient better half. Thank you very much!

This looks to be very well done! I like the weathering a lot - along with the base it is a nice package.
