I built this kit for the Group Build "Absent Friends" on FSM. The photos of the entire build are on the Group Build site. I'll just show a few of the photos of the finished plane here. The member I built it for was a very good friend of mine who over the years helped me tremendously with another hobby of mine stamp collecting. He loved corsairs and I did my darndest to make this one special. His favotite was any plane that was flown by "Pappy boyington" and there were a few. I only had one problem with the build and that was at the very end of the build. Please pardon my ignorance of the tech. terms for the parts involved. They are the support rods that go between the fuselage and the wing to hold them in place when they are folded for storage above or below deck. Oddly enough, they are the last pieces to be installed to complete the model. As I had not "Planned ahead", the wings were already glued in place so I tried to glue the one end to the fuselage and then holding the other end with a tweezer tried gluing it to the wing. The one went in with no problem. The other just would not go in no matter how hard I tried. Sooooooo, to prevent any and all breakage, I've left the other one off. I am sure that Toshi will forgive me. photos.app.goo.gl/Q1RB9wGGSzfkGKCk9Any and all criticism gratefully accepted. Stay safe. Jim

That’s a great idea for a group build. And that’s a beautiful Corsair. Love those birds. Great work.

Thanks for all the kind words. That was a great Group Build. There were many excellent builds that were built with lots of love for some great people. Honored to be included in that bunch of fantastic builders.

Absolutely wonderful tribute Jim. Your Corsair to him is stellar. Toshi was such a tremendous individual who possessed a heart of gold. As a fellow Corsair lover, him and I had many a wonderful conversation concerning them. He is still sorely missed. I have such fond memories of him and you put together an immensely fitting tribute. Thanks Jim. Thank You very much.
