Two of my most recent completions. Italeri's/Accurate Miniatures TBF/TBM Avenger, and Tamiya's F4U-1D Corsair, that I converted to a 1A model. I wanted to do the tri color paint scheme on the Corsair. I've done two other Corsairs previously, and the single color just looks like a toy to me for some reason.
Little bit of scratch building on the TBM, I decided to drop the flaps, so I had to build some detail on the inner surface of the upper wing. Not accurate, but you don't see it unless you pick it up and look anyway.
Seems I've been doing things in pairs lately, so I opted to build the Corsair next. Totally fictional markings. I gave the hairspray chipping method a go, and love it! Now I need to buy more hairspray though, lol.

Very nice to see your WWII USN birds in one thread. Too bad you don’t have a carrier deck to display them on, side by side…

I really like what I'm seeing here and have recently re-acquired an Accurate Miniatures Avenger. I shouldn't have gotten rid of the one I had in the stash in the first place but I sure as heck aint letting this one go. I really like how yours turned out and these are just hard kits to be in terms of getting a detailed result.
The Corsair is also a true labor of love and kudos goes out for pulling the hairspray method off very well. Both of these look like they made fine additions to the shelf Keyda. Great to have you here.

My LHS just got in a box full of old AM airplane kits. Considered picking one or two up but I don’t know enough about them. I know the McLaren kit I have is ridiculously detailed but know nothing of their aircraft.

Fantastic pair of USN aircraft. Both of those are beautifully executed. Looks like you got the hang of the hairspray technique right off the bat. Looks perfect.

A wonderful bit of weathering you did on both of these! I really like the chipped effect you did on the Corsair

I know the McLaren kit I have is ridiculously detailed but know nothing of their aircraft. The AM Shturmovik’s are also nice kits…. built the single seater one some time ago. I have the SB2U Vindicator, Yak-1, and F3F kits in my stash but have yet to build them. However those kits in the box are the same quality of molding and detail. Their Airacobra family of kits was supposed to be quite nice as well.

I know the McLaren kit I have is ridiculously detailed but know nothing of their aircraft. Their TBM kit was great. Fit was very good. Barely any of the good old putty, sand, prime, repeat. The turret was about the only thing that caused any trouble.

Awesome work Keyda. I like your Pacific theater work! Now where's your Hellcat, Wildcat, sbd, tbd ... 😋 I have a Hasegawa SBD coming in the mail Saturday, lol. I had the old Monogram boxing, but was rather annoyed to find that you had to use figures in order to hide the fact it had no interior detail what so ever, and I don't do figures.
