Most of mine already look like that. I believe this is the MAAM P-61. Quite a story on the recovery and restoration. I have a Kindle book on my IPad that tells this story. If I can remember, I'll post the title later, when I'm upstairs.

Coat of tinted Future to start the grunge and give a base for the bazillion decals. The grey looks blueish in the pictures but it is not.

TC, the OD and Neutral Gray are looking much better now with your grunge wash on.

TC, the OD and Neutral Gray are looking much better now with your grunge wash on. That is the end of my old Model Master acrylic olive drab. I really liked the colour of it since it does indeed react really well to the wash. It is what I think of when the term "olive drab" is used for aircraft even though the term actually refers to a whole range of tones.

All sealed up and ready for next stage weathering. Does anybody know where the exhaust came out on these things? I really can't find a decent picture and there are no obvious ports. Is it from under the cowl flaps?

Looking at photos, it looks like the exhaust stacks were hidden under the cowl flaps around the cowling Oh that bottom picture helps a pile! Was pretty sure they were in there on top but had no clues where underneath.

Yeah, I have some potato quality photos in my references that I went off of. Including a couple of those same ones. So I went over the top of the wings and some on the side of the nacelles in that pattern. Of course, I weathered mine lightly so it was more of a recently painted bird. I only have that same photo from the bottom but you can sort of see it on the side in this last one. I looked at dozens of pictures and never saw any of these! The staining goes way further aft than I would have thought.
