I have been working on the turret over the last week. Thank goodness, the resin barrel from Panzerart has arrived.

Since I want to be finished by March 20th, the first exhibition and competition is on March 23rd, I'm now working on the model for 2 hours every day. I hope I can finish the Merkava for the competition.

Hello everyone,

the Merkava construction site..........

Ok, I'm finished by now, but because I wanted to take part in the competition in Lingen, I had imposed a gag order.
I took part in the competition, but not in the class for finished, unpainted vehicles.

Unfortunately the class was not announced this year.

So I've put the Merkava in the normal vehicle class. Of course I'm missing the points for painting and aging.

Nevertheless, it turned out to be a nice model. So here are the last pictures.



























And finally the pictures of the finished model, I will only change the base.
I'm going to make another black base.

Incredible detail you added to this! It certainly shows terrific as is but if you ever splash paint on it I would love to see it!

Thank you very much, I don't know yet whether I will paint it. There's an exhibition in Belgium at the end of May. There is a class for unpainted vehicles. But we don't have an exhibitor space yet.

I like the idea of leaving a model such as this, with all the extra PE and detailing, unpainted. Lovely work btw.

Addendum,

I was at the KMK Belgium model exhibition and took part in the competition. In the "Naked" class, vehicle built and ready for painting. I was able to prevail against 9 other modelers and won gold in the class.

Congratulations! I think it's cool that they have a class like this as, like your model, some look so detailed and amazing all decked out just before paint.
Now, do you eventually paint it? Tough call.

many thanks for the congratulations.

keavdog, my modeling friends say: don't paint it. This year it's going into a next competition, if there's such a class. Without that, I have no chance, because I don't have the points for painting and aging.
