My "goldfish" brain said to me, "Hey, what say we start another one?" Some stuff on the Raiden and dozer are drying so, why not? This is the new (I think) Tamiya 1/48 2 Ton 4x2 British Ambulance. Yes, 1/48. Small but manageable. Nice kit so far. Not a very high parts count, either. Here is the chassis so far...

I gotta get one of these. I was dissappointed that Airfix did it in 1/35 and not 1/48 so i was glad to see Tamiya step up. Still need a 1/48 Dodge ambulance.

me and the create post are going to have to have a talk. Just lost it and have to re-do it. Oh well. The chassis had a total of eight parts - right up my alley! The "box" has no detail, no doors that open...nothing to see here. The fit of the panels is quite nice. Typical Tamiya...they just fit.

Great looking build. I have the Gecko kit and a number of other early war Brit vehicles in both resin and styrene. Planning a Dunkirk diorama with abandoned vehicles by the roadside. Of course that will be when I've finished the 10 or so kits that I'm halfway through. As for shelf queens, I don't have any ....... Mine are more like ancient artifacts.

I really admire you folks that do dioramas. Why, oh why, do we start so many? I like. Your description of the shelf queens.

Some progress. . . and a question. (the only dumb question is the one you don't ask, right?) How does one fade the paint as these would have been? Do you add a white or gray to the base color? Do you make a white/gray wash and over spray?

Looking real good!!! I enjoyed my first ever Tamiya 1/48 armor kit recently and I can see why many of modelers like those too.
