This is definitely an underrepresented subject in the scale.

Yes, artillery kits are somewhat under represented in kits. Some of the WWII to today pieces are covered, but many are overlooked. And that’s too bad, as they make an impressive presence on the display shelves.

Actually the name is not that self explanatory. At least not to me. There is nothing there that actually rolls, looking more like some mounting points for tow hooks or shackles, for lack of a better term. I tried googling the term, and all I saw was stuff related to the mechanisms of aquatic spear guns. In my head, perhaps it is some sort of protective item for the muzzle to keep it from striking the ground while being towed...

I blinked and it is almost done!!! Looking real good especially that we don't see a lot of artillery builds here.

Perhaps when recoiling the muzzle slid into the track

Thanks guys!
Andy, no we don't see many artillery pieces built on here. I might be working on that. This is my second since I've been on here.
John, sure as can be, those lugs do enter the cradle when in full recoil in that combat footage. Interesting.
Sharp, I just need to do a bit more weathering and this will be complete!

Isn't this the same gun the Germans converted to an Anti-Tank gun?

Isn't this the same gun the Germans converted to an Anti-Tank gun? Yes, they put it on a PAK-38 carriage and added a pepper pot style muzzle brake. I forget the German nomenclature for the gun.
