This past weekend I got Shanghaied into dog sitting for my middle daughter at her place... it's a long story... and it was also our monthly build & BS SoCal AMPS Zoom meeting on Saturday. So to pass the time, I brought along this kit. figuring it might go fairly quickly... After about 3 or so hours, I had gotten this much done... I didn't realize that the kit has photo etch parts, so I did not bring what I wold have needed for cutting and gluing PE, so this is where I stopped. I did this test fit of the wheels and gun shield, just to see how it will look... Yesterday I added the PE parts and the gun shield, then let that dry overnite before priming... I have not glued on the wheels yet to aid in painting. Today I gave it a coat of Mig Ammo One Shot Primer Tomorrow I'll get the painting done... and gluing the wheels on...

Thanks Brandon. This was more complex of a build than I thought that it would be. But now that I have some primer on it, its looking better... Tomorrow paint!!!

Thanks Kyle. Now I need to find a prime mover for it, and a gun crew....

Team of mules, team of mules... John, I was thinking a motorized vehicle of some sort…. I had seen some tracked vehicle kits out there…

Oh I didn’t know that Heller made that vehicle… I’ll have to look for one of these. Although the gun I can pass on, as the Heller kits of the Renault R-35 and Hotchkiss H-35 in my stash both come with the 25mm AT Gun.

That's a great time filler project Carlos! I've brought models along on trips with me and after around 3-4 times of bringing them and never having the time I gave up on the idea. Usually it's my brother and his family that we go see and thinking that I'd have time in the morning to get something done in modeling and my brother waking up to talk and hang out, I resolved myself to the fact that it just wasn't meant to be and enjoyed the visit.
This is a pretty neat little project and am looking forward to seeing this in paint. Good on you for making (and having) the time to put this one together.

Joe, I'm learning to appreciate those quick filler projects. It sometimes allows me to get something done quickly that otherwise would have languished unbuilt.
John, yes I looked it up on Scalemates.... and Wiki... It's the wrong vehicle for towing this gun. But since there are so few French vehicle kits out there, I'l look for one, just to fill out my 1/35 French Army.

Carlos, that is really a sharp build! Well done.

Yup and they're great to get that "sense of accomplishment" when there's a long term project on the bench (which seems to be every build I touch these days.).

Hi Stickpusher Nice build, You could use one of the French armored personnel carriers Lorraine 37L or 38L they have been done by a few eastern kit companys, or a Tamiya Quad Gun Tractor ? or the Somua ,but i think only done in resin.

Many thanks for looking in and your comments guys! it is moving quickly forward, but not quickly enough... too much stuff on the schedule this week interfering with bench time. I wanted to get it finished yesterday... Lyle... you are too much!!! VW, I'm building this as French Army in 1940, so available kit choices are quite limited. I made one of those Quad gun tractors for my Tamiya 25 Pdr (Lyle, stop right now!!!) I'd love to get one of those Somua half tracks, but I have never seen a kit of one of those before... I'm looking for one of those Lorraine tractor kits, at a decent price of course. Too bad this is too big for the Tamiya UE Chenille to tow... I've already built one of those years ago.

Ski thank you! Lyle... plans are like promises... but while promises are made to be broken, no plan survives first contact with the enemy (or reality/most model kits)... So painting begins... Yesterday in the midday I airbrushed on a coat of Gunze Aqueous Khaki Green for the base color In the evening I painted the tires with Model Color Black Gray then today I started weathering the tires, and on some of the trail and suspension... a glaze coat of Model Color Stone Gray Tomorrow I should get the rest finished...

What are the bits on the front of the barrel? I have no idea... possibly some sort of counterweight for balance on the trunnions.
