Now, for a special treat, the new 71 Demon kit. This has been a grail kit for a long time. I've really wanted one in the collection for years, as I liked them a bit more than the Duster. However, the vintage kits are at outrageous prices. I was excited when they announced the new kit. This kit is great! I liken it to the old 71 Duster kit. The only flaw I found was a hood fit issue, so I had to glue it shut. It would stick up on the front right or in the left back. The rear spoiler I think is also too thick. I did also find a head scratcher with the chassis. You have to poke out the holes for the exhaust, a feature you need stock or custom, but there are holes already in the suspension for the custom drag bars. Kinda weird. You also have to cut out the holes for the scoops, which is weird since you're adding strips and wouldn't be able to see them once the decals are on. Not to mention having to cut holes in the decals for the scoops. I just cut off the prongs and glued them straight on. Over all, the kit is an excellent kit, and makes a great looking model car! I have a strong admiration for these cars as they were the “Sneaky Pete “ of fast cars back in the day and what you’ve done here is nothing short of flashy. Great color choice and details under the hood Eric. Your mini review of the kit is most certainly appreciated and will be utilized for future reference. Now…..if someone would repop a Maverick kit that would be GREAT!!!!

Thanks everyone. It really is a great kit, and some of my best work. I forgot to mention; other than the hood, the fit is great. The tub and chassis lock into place nicely. They did a good job thinking out the building process. As for the color. Sublime is my favorite MOPAR color, so most of my builds are automatically Sublime for the first build. On some occasions I may purchase a second car to do in another color depending on how much I like the kit. For this one it is tempting to grab another at some point to do in either Lemon Twist or Plum Crazy. Though, it looks as if Hobby Lobby is starting to get rid of a lot of their paint. Couldn't find transparent red last time I went and I haven't seen Panther Pink or a good purple in awhile.

Sublime is the PERFECT color for this! I really like how your scoops turned out with having to deal with decals around them

Sublime is the PERFECT color for this! I really like how your scoops turned out with having to deal with decals around them The hood decals were a little tricky. There's a raised portion on the hood and the decals kept wanting to bubble up on the edges. There's still two spots where they did, but it's not noticeable unless you look closely. The scoops, I just cut the prongs off the bottom and tried to sand them a bit. After that it was easy to just glue them to the hood on top of the stripes.

Very cool build and I love the work and the color. I pre-ordered mine and it just shipped out. Looking forward to having it in hand.
