Evening Fellow Modelers, I just got home from a road trip to Triangle, VA. Went to the Marine Corps Museum there, it was really great! It's a timeline history of the Marine Corps in amazing dioramas! The resin-mannequin soldiers in the displays are so lifelike that it is a bit unnerving! Some are based on real-life marines, and they are around $30k each! All kinds of weapons, military vehicles, tanks, planes and helicopters. Just WOW! If you're a museum buff, GO!

Now THAT sounds like a good place to visit Bryan and I'll have to check out the website. You got any pictures of that adventure?

I would love to go there. I've visited several of the museums on Camp Pendleton, but there are no life size dioramas or mannequins in those. Did you take any photos that you can share with us on here?

I'm not much into photos, so I do not have any to post. And I'm not sure that pix would do it justice, it has to be seen to get the full effect of the realism.
I've visited many museums throughout this country, it is one of the best!

For me, I'm the world's worst about forgetting to take photos BUT I hear what you're saying about pictures not doing something like this any real justice. I may have to look this one up to see what it's all about. Sounds very interesting. |
