I'm getting ready to kick this into gear, learning heaps from all the other builds you guys have going on. This is the kit in question. ![](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53520357130_fcabb61921_b.jpg) I'm after some advice on the paint. I have a feeling that someone has converted the RLM colours to Tamiya somewhere else on the forum but I can't find it. This is the version I'm going to build. ![](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53520093668_1db5e88fab_b.jpg) And these are the colours I'm going to need. ![](https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53519038932_6c2af1a6dc_b.jpg) From the research I've done, it appears I have to mix a few of the Tamiya colours to get the correct RLM colour. Is this right? What do you guys suggest? Tamiya is the easiest for me to get but I'm not sure what else I should look for. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Oh man!! And he busts out with the Profi-Pack kit!! I'm really looking forward to seeing you work your magic on an Fw190 Tim. Right off, I saw the same thing with the RLM conversion that you did in regard to Tamiya colors. I'll do a little digging tomorrow and get back to you unless someone else beats me to it.

I have a big chart of Tamiya mixes so here goes..... RLM 70 (XF27 is a pretty good match) 04 (XF3 with just a drop of XF7 ) 23 (XF7) 74 (3 parts XF24 : 2 parts XF27) 75 (5 parts XF24 : 1 part XF50 : 2 parts XF2) 76 (7 parts XF2 : 1 part XF23 : 2 parts XF66) Hope this helps

You will need XF-22 for RLM02 that will be called for in areas like the gear bay. Bookmarked this! I'm looking forward to seeing this come together

I just picked the 2-A because there weren't many on the list Looks like Johnny and Brent beat me to it Tim. You've indeed got a good kit. Eduard offers the following tiers of kits: 1. The Weekend Edition kits: These are basic kits with the parts on the sprues only. Pretty much like you would see in most any model kit. 2. The ProfiPACK Series: These have the sprues just like the Weekend Edition kits have but they include a photo etch fret, canopy masks and a larger decal sheet for multiple options of any given aircraft. 3. The Dual Combo kits: These kits have two full kits with two PE frets, masks for both and a very large decal sheet 4. Royal Class Series: When you buy one of these........money is usually no object. You get two full kits, several PE frets x 2 for each kit in the box, a HUGE decal sheet and a special gift inside the box. I've gotten pieces of original aircraft, a Bf109 wine glass in the 109 RC kit and there are things out there like a mug specific to the model in the boxing. The Bf110 kit comes with a 1/4 scale instrument panel that can be built up and makes a GREAT display piece.

That Royal Class Series is just staggering! I'll have to look into this ( given that I can build and paint an aircraft lol). My sincere thanks to everyone who has helped me sort the paint out, greatly appreciated!!

Just a quick question, how do you guys measure out your paint when you need 2 parts of this to 3 of another?

Just a quick question, how do you guys measure out your paint when you need 2 parts of this to 3 of another? I usually mix paint by counting the drops of paint Tim and I either use a paint cup or an AB jar to drop and mix them in.

With approx 20 drops = 1 cm3 you can see how something that is a 7:1:2 mix is gonna add up quick with even just a 10 drop multiplier (x7 x1 x2). I'd figure out how much you want to make and then calculate how many drops to get there given the mix ratios. Keep in mind that you will end up thinning the paint before applying it too.
