Magnificent. I greatly enjoyed following along with your build of this venerable old girl. You really did a fantastic job beating it into submissions. Glad to see another built.

Well done, Tony. A well weathered and hard worked P-61! Not that bad of a kit to build, is it, just takes some attention to detail, certainly not one to rush.

Same here, but then that's all my patience usually allows! I am spending a little more time on this one making my own decals and masks for wing walks, but only because it seems like fun at the moment.

You got this done really quick. The beat up paint work is perfect. One day I'll drag mine out

You really brought out all the tricks in getting this one across the finish line in good fashion Tony. Looks like you got most of the fit issues to "behave" with this and pulled off the detailing & weathering exceptionally well dude. You've for sure got my respects!!

Nice and dirty...just how I like em!!!
This kit (older boxing) was a "big project" for me, in the first couple years of getting back into it. I scribed and riveted(one by one with a needle) it. I stole cowl parts from a very old 61 build, so both sides would be the same...opened up the intakes...all sorts of stuff!!!

I don't mind the raised lines and details on these old kits. In fact I often embrace them to bring out fine detail. I didn't do it on this kit as a trial showed the black plastic was too stark against the olive and grey. This is the very old Monogram Voodoo which I just lightly sanded in order to capture the the very lightly raised rivets and lines. It worked out very well and was probably more precise that I could ever manage with a wash in engraved details.

Those were about all I could afford, and readily available at Meijers or Walmart still. As far as re-scribes go, I've only got 3 that I've done...the 61, TBD (both done over 10 years ago) and a fairly recent OA-4M. It was more about the challenge and stretching out my build time...getting more hours of entertainment for the dollars spent!

You whipped that into shape in short order and did a stellar job at that. I would be proud to have this one on display any day. Well done!!!
