Hi all, I have been picking away at this old corsair model I had lying in my graveyard. Going through some personal stuff and I found that detailing and fixing something was therapeutic. What I have done: Added details to landing gear legs, although not really accurate it looks better than the sticks that were provided by Revell Added surrounding walls to landing bay, including wiring and piping Repainted and detailed cockpit, added seatbelts to the seat Drilled out the exhaust vents on the underside of the wing, they were molded without openings Opened grill on engine cowling Added wiring to engine Replaced molded guns with shrink tubing Added engine exhausts to cowling using shrink tubing as well I had to replace the broken prop with the only four bladed prop I could find, from a P-47. It doesn't look quite right, but oh well. I don't know how to go about painting this again, as my airbrush is out of commission indefinitely and with the snow, I don't want to spray paint outside (nor can I even afford spray paint at this moment XD). Tell me what you think and if you have any ideas as to how to do the paint. I have no decals either, and I have sanded off surface details (thanks revell for mostly raised detail) Don't mind the background... :

Looks like you are making good additions to this Declan! I have some 1/48 decal sheets in my spares box I cam PM you pics of. I am not sure if they are from a F4U but if the stars and bars will work for you they are yours if you want them. I know for sure I don't have a prop for a Corsair but maybe another forum member does?

I feel your pain in taking this kit on Declan ( Ceaser_Sa1ad). I built one of these around 10 years ago and share in your concerns and desire to make this kit better as it's just so dang rough. I ended up using the wheels and tires from a spare Eduard Hellcat kit on mine because the Revell OOB ones were just terrible. You've got the idea right on the wing cannons and gear legs as well. Go slow and hang with this one Declan.....you're doing some good things here bud.

Nice work so far reviving this old girl. I almost bought this kit several times as a kid but ultimately stuck to car models.

I have a spare F4U prop I can send your way. May have a set of decals around but will have to dig for them. If you would like the prop just PM me your address and I will send it off. With decals if I can find them! As far as painting goes just follow the best practices (thinning, limited strokes, etc) for brush painting and it will be fine.
