Finished 'er up last night. Eduard boxing of Hasegawas B-26. Along with resin wheels, PE pit and details, and masks....I was given Eduard and CMK engines to choose from(went with CMK), several decal sheets (went with a set from Kagero). Not much for "scratchin" aside from wiring up the engines and aluminum tubing for the pitot tubes. Obligatory Arizona tea can aluminum was used for the little "fins" on the pitot tubes. This one fought me quite a bit...mentally. Had a hard time getting into it, for some reason. I did start n it last Spring, just before I got too busy with other stuff. It's been off/on all Winter. Finally really got into it towards the end. I really do like the B-26...the "extras" tend to bog down my into it-ness...along with paint crinkling and peeling issues ! Refs are mixed, on the stripes and medium green camo around the edges. We decided to leave off the camo (could not confirm one way or the other on the real thing)...and went with painted over top stripes, for "interest". Oops...gotta paint those signal lights on the wing

Great job on the widowmaker sir I like the painted over invasion stripes especially; the manufacturers would have you think that everything from 1942 on had them looking at the decal sheets. 10+

Jeez man......you've done it again Jerermy. Great detailing coupled with a fantastic paint job. You and your Arizona Tea cans dude.....lol. Just amazing work.
Aint it funny how pictures bring out some of the unfinished work that we forgot to get done? lol.....I've had that happen more times than I can count.

Your builds always have such a great balance of weathering detail and this one is no exception.

THanks again, guys! One of these days, I'll build one for myself!!! I don't know why, but I like the 26 a bit more than the 25. I've got 2 25's on the shelf, but no 26's....3 25's in the stash, and only 1 26(Hasegawa, without all the extras). This build was the 6th 26 I've built. The last 2 were 1/48 "Mild & Bitter". The 1st was for Bill Vollenweider, the son of one of her co-pilots, and his name (misspelled on the decals) is on the side of it. That model went on display at "The Detroiter" truck stop, that he started and his son took over. I even saw my model on the news! A clip of Lubensky and Vollenweider making a belly landing in "Patches" had surfaced, and the news picked it up as a "Detroit Connection". They showed the clip and the "memorial" that was at the truck stop where the model was displayed. The 2nd, went to Lou Lubensky. Bill still kept in touch and visited him annually. I built the model and met with Bill, and he, in turn, delivered it to Lou. I got a nice letter from Lou... The other 26's I've done, were many, many moons ago!

Don't see many B26s, and you've done a great job with this one.
