Some really good details being put into the landing gear, tail hook and what looks like a TON of work that got put into the cockpit as well. These are big birds in this scale so there's plenty of opportunity for the details which Tamiya does so good a job at providing OOB. Good to see this one getting ready to have the paint slung on it James.

That marble effect is something that I use on pretty much all of my aircraft builds now and it works out perfectly in portraying a good color modulation. Your paint and decal work look great James.

I learn something new every day, wow. I'd never heard of the marble effect, or the salt effect on AC's, but I have now. The results really add some realistic depth to the subject. The pin washes will make this all pop. I don't think many realize just how grungy a bird can get from normal sortie rates.
Excellent progress, James!

Excellent paint work. Just a beauty. I've done some attempts at black basing and pre-shading with mixed results. But for that beat up navy gray mottle look your technique is great. I'll have to try that. I've never tried the salt trick either. Always more to learn.

I always appreciate peoples' ability to stay focused on a project over long periods of time (because that's not me, unfortunately). Fantastic work! Wow.

Just terrific! Love the preshading and how you got it to show thru. That brownish tint in post shading work looks the part too!
