Very cool! I saw they make a 3D set of decals for the interior of this kit. I think I saw them at Hobbynutmodels. This will be fun to watch.

You’re making quick progress on this! Are you gonna do this in OD or a MERDC scheme?

I remember some of the older bunch talking about these things when I got in the service in the late 80's. NOBODY liked those things but.....they were an interesting concept. I'll be watching along with this build Terry.

I'll be watching along with this build Terry. Never even saw one of these anyplace I was deployed. Guess this is what happens when an aircraft company ( Chance-Vought) designs it and a company that specializes in generators (Consolidated Diesel Electric) builds it!

You are really moving on this build. I definitely get the idea these were joyless from the look on the faces of some of the occupants and drivers in the pictures

The "Goat" was designed carry cargo. A thankless job with no glamor, however it did sometimes pulled light artillery.

It was also used as a shelter carrier for “RATT Rigs”, and as a field ambulance for transporting casualties, among other uses. It was replaced by the HMMWV family in all those roles, along with the M151 jeeps, CUCV family, and a few other types. My old friend drove one in the commo section of an 82nd Airborne Field Artillery battalion until they got HMMWVs in around 86 or so. The driver figure on the Tamiya kit box art looks a lot like him.

Carlos, 82nd Airborne, 1F320? C13? Please. For my future references in identifying US Army markings. Thanks.
