Word on the street is this is a righteous model kit that'll not give you fits to assemble and paint. I see you've made up for this with the AM tracks however

This should be one fun build to watch Bob. The M51 is one boss tank.

That's a very good kit, accurate and well-engineered. I'm interested in seeing the tracks go together as I have the same box in the stash.

Joe - Agree 100%
Leon - Second run. Built it several years back. Another Tamiya joy.
Kyle - Welcome aboard.
Rbaer - Stay tuned. They don't look all that bad. Although 6 pieces per link, but still with the supplied jig and once I get my rhythm should go nicely. Clean up will be the big chore.
TG - pretty much, Ill add my stowage/tarp touches as I cannot resist.

Lyle - Yes, just a bit LOL. part clean up took the majority of time. The Jerry cans are going to need some TLC before any paint goes down. Not that they are rough but do need a a lot of seam work.

Joe - Im cracking along lol TJ - Welcome So been a couple days...I think and some solid progress. Turret is completed in all its glory along with its accompanying bits and fiddlies. Everything had a final clean up and ready for primer. I was doing some har thinking on the tracks. Although these RFMs are nice there is a ton of clean up that will take a year. I set them aside and ordered a set of Fruils.....what the hell....why not! I wanted to keep it Israeli to the core so average stowage was nt going to cut it. So I bit the bullet and got the Legend Prod stowage set. Many photos of the M-51 is 67 thru 73 show some unique items. This set will cover what I need. Will work on cleaning up the stowage and get that primed up after I check what and where to place. Ill start the base coat with Vallejo 71-141 Israeli sand 73 -Bob

Nice work! I just got the old Verlinden IDF stowage set and RFM tracks along with the AFV Club tracks (which are horrible) Right now depends on if I do the 60mm HVMS turret.

I'm edging towards the stash, haven't built an IDF Sherman in a while... Man, I wish I'd know you were thinking of Friuls, I have a couple of sets I probably won't use. I do however have that same Legends stowage set, plus the Batch 3 conversion just laying around.

Medic - Thank you and oh yeah, more coming on this thread Tojo - Thank you. Handi - Thank you Rbaer - Do it....LOL. Had to go with the Fruil. the cleanup on the RFMs would seriously taken forever. Extra sets? Let me know....LOL So moving along, the fuils finally arrived but sitting on those as I am focusing on the paint and fiddlies. Took about three days to get all the stowage off the blocks and cleaned up. These have no been primed with Mr. Surfacer 1500 black. The base was finally laid down on everything. I left a lot of stuff off to weather separately. The base is Vallejo 71.141 Israeli Sand 1973. This is a very light sand color and the black primer did "Tame" it a bit. I gloss cleared coated every thing and got to dot filtering to tamp the sand shade down a bit more. The few decals are in place and I will paint the kill bands on the barrel as the decals detonated. The sheet is fine but I did find it unusual that the Tamiya decals were as thin as they were. Built this kit a while agao and dnt remember that being the case. Once all of this settles Ill gloss coat again and get to pin washes and additional weathering. Im hopping on the tire black next for all the road wheels. More to come. Thanks all for taking a look. -Bob
