Hi All,
As I'm new I thought I'd better share my current WIP(s).
The main thing occupying my time is this 1/72 C-130 from Italeri that I'm building as a RAF C.1 - this is for a Farewell to the C-130 (from RAF service) that I'm hosting on another forum. This is stricly OOB asides from some replacement resing engines from Brengun, that fix the too-short cowlings that Italeri messed up in the kit.
This is the kit...
These are the internals - I've no idea how accurate this is for a RAF C.1, I just copied the photo from an A model. I did however want something colourful that'll show through the clear-parts. I did actually add some detail painting and washes to the side walls and other parts, but forgot to take some photos before I buttoned it up. I've also just realised that I forgot to add the seat-belts... D'oh!
And this is where it was yesterday, I've since sanded off the filler and am in the process of polishing back the plastic with various grades of wet and dry before replacing the lost detail.
As you can see, I'm also currently building a Zvezda 1/72 Hurricane mk.IIc - I've added a Vokes filter from my spares box and am painting it as a South African Airforce aircraft used in North Africa using Xtradecals. I've since done some more painting to this and it's awaiting a blast of Mrhobby superclear before decals. All the paints are brush painted with Humbrol Acrylics (pretty crap) using my wet pallet and a small no 4 Citadel brush.
The canopy on the Herc is only clipped into place and I have since removed it to clean off the sanding dust.
This is the scheme I'm going for...
The other aircraft I'm currently working on is this Starter set Hawker Siddely (Bae) Hawk T.1 from Airfix.
This is a really simplifed kit intended for begineers that I bought just to see what it was like. So far I've had to add some missing detail to the cockpit, fit a nose light and pitot and scratch-build the missing fuselage strakes. I'll also have to SB the missing front U/C bay door when the time comes. I'm also going to use some AM decals and an ADEN gun pod and sidewinders from my spares to build it as an armed T.1a.
This is where I am on the underside, I need to take some more up to date photos as I've since painted the top and done some re-filling.
I really like the Hawk T.1, probably my favourite jet. I have x4 more T.1s and x2 Hawk 200 single seaters in the stash.
Cheers!
