I didn't even know there was a full hull version. This kit was a gift from my ex wife. She got the type of submarine right, Type VII's are my favorite, but the open hull always made my head spin. After what I've gone through I should've just chucked it in the bin and forgotten it. But here we are and I will finish it eventually.

I'm ready for primer! I'm just waiting for my paint-blob (isolators, or floats?) on the wires to dry before I spray it. Revell 1/125 U-boat by Mike Brindos, on Flickr Can someone tell me what the wires are? My current guess is a radio wire, hence my assumption that there are isolators on it. Floats just don't make any sense to me. First, spectacular job on closing up the port hull. That’s a lot of work and I commend you on the effort. The wire worked two-fold: as radio line and also to guide the cut underwater netting over the conning tower; without it getting caught on the tower. Those are also insulators on the lines. I believe the net cutters were the earlier ’40 - ’42 u-boats and were eventually discarded. They were more of a pain in the posterior and not as effective - took a lot of back and forth ramming to get thru one.

You've done superb work and now you're almost at the finishing line. Looking forward to seeing some paint.
