I checked, I have kit number 89718 (a special edition of some sort). I remember now why I never attempted starting it - there's no actual picture of the vehicle in the box! From what I gather, it's some sort of silver/black fade scheme? I seem to recall wondering how the hell I would pull that off. Hahaha.

This matches the decals in the instructions other than the West )probably didn't get the rights to that) Looks like most of the colour demarcations are pretty sharp. The real fun part is the silver to white on the front cowel.  Be tricky but not impossible. Well for others that is. I couldn't pull that off.

Oh you have the black box version. I have the previous version for the Japanese Grand Prix. Complete with West markings.

I think the decal sheet covers a lot of that color change/fade stuff. I’ll double check when I get home. 

however. There is always the option to do the car as it appeared in testing.

”Papaya” is the classic McLaren color. Scalefinishes has McLaren orange which would be where I would turn for the color. I think this would be a pretty cool build!

  Is there a U.S. based online site to pick up these awesome sprint cars? I one day would like to build a sprint or modified. I tend to not build many cars of any genre however I've always thought these are so cool.

Looks like the born in the USA group build wraps up 6/3 so sometime shortly after that? Thinking a full year just because I want to see many cool cars built

Yes, Thats where my head is at too. Full year should give everyone time even if they can’t start right away and we get to see more cool builds!! I have designs on several different classes of open wheel builds for this one!

   Eagerly awaiting kickoff of this build. I'm going to start with the Tamiya Type 78 Lotus. If I finish it with enough time the Turbo Renault will be next...both 1/12 scale.
