A new 1/48 H-19 coming out from AMP/MikroMir. I"ll be in for one or more of these when they come out. Looks a wee bit nicer than the 1955 Revell kit I finished a couple years ago. They also say... "All possible options are planned, both British and American." So expect a Whirlwind as well as a the Chickasaw. I have their recently released Gazelle and it looks awesome. Matter of fact, I might just build it From MikroMir FB page www.facebook.com/mikro.mir.dnepr

Looks like some 3D printed goodies to go along with it too.

"All possible options are planned, both British and American." That is a tall order, the S-55 was used by somewhere around 50 services plus civil operators. There were over a dozen significant variants and conversions, several different turbine upgrades, some OPFOR conversions and even some flying campers. I'll consider betraying the one true scale if they do this version (look closely, it is not what it first appears).

They'll have to do two different engines to cover all the bases. The ones I worked on in the Army had Wright R-1300's, like a T-28A which had 7 cylinders. The image shows a Pratt and Whitney R-1340, as in the T-6. It does look promising.
