1/48 ICM Spit mk. VII

This kit was given to me to build by/for the property owner of my hunting grounds.
The kit is decent...lots of parts for various options. I went with the box art and kept things simple.
Wheels up, as it will be a ceiling hanger.
I didn't have the proper colors, but, hey..."close" counts in horse shoes, hand grenades, and scale modeling!!! I mixed my own "med sea grey" and "azure blue".
Decals were terrible...just about every one of them ended up in pieces...many angry words were said.
Finished it up in the wee hours this a.m., and it's now in the owners hands!



I think the blue backdrop takes a little bit away from the azure-ness of the blue belly.
At this point, I was fed up with broken decals, and called it a day...stencils aren't all that important anyway!

Fermis, it really looks great!!! I bet the new owner is very pleased. I haven't built an ICM kit before and I don't have on in my stash cause I am kinda keen at buying one when I am not too familiar but I am tempted to get new tooled A-26 or B-26 new tooled kits since those seem to be the only new ones out there?

I’ve built three ICM aircraft kits so far, all 1/48 single seat fighters…. This same Spitfire, a Yak-7, and a Mig-3. I’ve really been liking their kits. ICM’s end opening boxes suck, and their decals suck, but the models themselves are quite nice, and usually quite a bargain.

 I've done a few, and as I recall...they've all been decent kits. 
Like Stik says though...the decals suck! End opening boxes from any company are annoying (only 1 of the 3 I have in the stash is an end opener).
I'd just about guarantee(sight unseen) their 26's would be better than anything else out there.
