The T-20 typically had black leather seats; however, this one had brown leather seats mainly because I wanted to practice painting distressed brown leather.

I'm pretty happy with how they turned out

WOW!!! You've been making some good headway on this Brian. I can't get over the individual track links in 1/72 scale and I'm sure it presented itself as a daunting task just looking at all those parts in the box. Painting and weathering is looking rather stellar as well. Thank you for the tutorial on the track assembly process.

Those seats are outstanding. Even if "supposed" to be black exposed to the weather like they are they probably turned brown pretty quick anyway.

I would be happy to. I used MSP acrylics. This is a new (to me) brand of paints that I saw in a hobby store, I picked up a few colors last year and have been looking for a place to use them. MSP Paints

The base/primer was Mr Surfacer 1500 Black.

I then used several very thin layers of MSP 09109 Ruddy Leather. Thinned down, the paint went on almost like a glaze; I let each layer dry to the touch and then added the next. I did 4 very thin layers of this color to create some color variation in the base color. The layers were thin enough that the shadow from the base black layer was visible in places.

Next, I mixed the 9109 Ruddy Leather with 09110 Oiled Leather at around a 50/50 ratio. Oiled leather is the lighter of the two colors. I applied this in a series of single brush strokes (7 to 10 strokes per long side) around the perimeter of each seat, then used a blending brush to pull this color toward the center of each seat, leaving the darker color visible in the center while blending the lighter color in.

I finished it off by dry brushing the lighter 9110 Oiled leather color along the perimeter of each seat.

To summarize: Dark base tone with highlights, work from the outer edge to the center of each seat cushion. That is the complete process.

The fuel tank is sort of cooler in a way since it isn't something you see modeled everyday but in reality there were probably hundreds of fuel tanks towed for every anti tank gun that was.

I know what you mean. I wanted to have an 45mm AT gun for my upcoming GAZ AA truck, but the one I'd like is almost none existent in 1:35, then I stumbled across a field kitchen for about $5,-...  So that will be in tow...

I am biased though since my military time was in service support so fuel trailers and field kitchens interest me a bit more than the norm.

My service time as in IT, but they didn't have any back then 
Surely there is a far bigger support organisation behind every combat unit...  An I  generally like to display my models in out of combat situations, as these occur much more than actual combat does...

Been pretty busy this week so I haven't had much time at the bench but have been able to get the fuel trailer painted and chipped.




Last night, I started working on painting the tracks. I wrapped up around 2 AM and left them on my bench to dry. This morning, I woke up to disaster.

One of our cats visited my bench and made the tracks his play toy. Besides being broken apart, there are some missing sections now. I have looked all over and can't find them.



I don't know what to do other than buy another kit and steal the tracks from it. I haven't found any aftermarket tracks for this.

I've never had this happen before so I didn't think leaving them exposed on my bench for 6 hours would be an issue.

If you could get one good track then I would just diorama it. Could be missing a couple of sections but you wouldn't know. Couple of dejected looking figures staring at it and you have a whole story.

I'd put it on a base, then re-assemble the tracks leaving whatever missing links on the bottom run of what would be the back side. I'd then bury the evidence of missing links in static grass; you get it tall enough no one would ever see it. This way you'd not have to model a broken down vehicle if it was originally not your intent to do so.

Or you could leave the missing links out of the top run and make a tarp hanging over the missing section. I got alot of ideas how to hide oopses three guesses how I came up with them

Could you make a mold and cast the missing pieces? Might be able to patch enough of it.
