I used to paint pewter figures many moons ago. They turned out well. But this is my first plastic figure. Not bad I think. Watched a lot of videos on how to paint them. Using Vallejo paints. If I try and add eyes, he looks cross-eyed. Doesn't work for me. Started the commander tonight as well. They were primed with Mr. surfacer black primer, then a fine white mist coat from the top down. THe paint looks a bit thick but it is several layers of very thinned out paint.

Very nice work! I really like those Tri Star crew figures. The quality of the molding is top notch.

THe paint looks a bit thick but it is several layers of very thinned out paint. That's normal. Few figure painters get it right with the first try. Practice, practice, practice... And lots of studying uniform pictures for the camo schemes.

Great work. I’ve never seen Tristar figures. They look good.

Tristar has disappeared from the market. Severall of their kits were again released by HobbyBoss. They were nicely fine detailed.

Braver than I, sir, but you've inspired me. A damned good start if you ask me!

Great progress, looks fine from here. On the eyes, you might want to try a side glance to make it easier, if possible. Painting eyes dead ahead is tricky, but can be done, as Tobi said, with a lot of practice. No worries, I still fight that part myself all the time, lol.
Ruck On, OL, looks good.
