I have been working on building all of Ed Heinemann's designs in 1/72, here is the most recent. Limited run kit but not too difficult as they go. A fair bit of photoetch including the main gear doors. They are a rather odd design with all the doors on the outside of the inward retracting main gear and they hang way out there. Gunze Red Madder was used for the red, that was in my paint drawer. The decals were not a lot of fun, some breaking up. The insignia were a total loss and I sourced those from the decal stash. This is a pretty new kit release so that somewhat surprised me. It was not a large airplane as you can see in the last photo with a Mustang and Cat D-7.

Very cool John. Nice job - and yes, looks pretty small indeed.

Great job John. Super small but super cool. Surprising you had decal issues like that for a new kit

Douglas vs. Bell! Great looking little build John! Although not officially an “X-Plane”, it was in everything but name.

That rocks John! Such a funky looking little beastie; you did it proud. I am overwhelmed with the quality of the smooth and glossy red paint on this.
