Thank you all so much! When I last posted I believe I had just gotten the alclad2 aluminum put down. Now I have masked and painted the yellow along the leading edge of the wing and have started masking for the red do not step areas. Of course it never fails that I forget something. When I masked for the leading edges I thought the band around the fuselage was white but nope also yellow, so I got to spray more yellow in the future too   Thanks for looking in! Skol! |

A Big step forward tonight. I got the red do not step lines sprayed along with one side of the tail to start out with. I figured it would be a good idea to do one side at a time.   Don't know how easy it is for you guys to see but this is the tail marking mask  Then I masked off all the red meatballs and the other side of the tail and sprayed that.     Next things to do, still before camo, is to mask and spray the yellow band around the rear section and some kanji on the trailing edge of the wings. I forgot to cut these out when I did the rest of the masks. main reason is they show up on the decal guide but their is no decals for them on the sheet. Luckily Tamiya gave a 1/48 scale painting guide with them on it so I can use that to make my masks  That's all for now. Thanks for looking in! Skol! |

Thank you everyone for following along with this build. I'm now ready to start airbrushing the camo. First I was informed that the characters on the trailing edge of the wing are Katakana, not Kanji. I was worried that they was too small but the portrait cutter had no problem cutting these out beautifully.  So I put these on, masked for the yellow rear stripe and the black anti glare panel.   So now I'm going to put the circle masks over the meatballs and start on the camo Thanks for looking in! Skol! |

Looking at photos many look like they was painted by hand and just over all really sloppy, I'm going to try to keep it neat but not the same paint density. |

Thank you all so much! I was worried about ruining the paint job the entire time I was putting it down. Just a few thing left to do. Exhaust stains, some weathering and throwing the sub assemblies on to this and then I can call this done. Not sure if I'm going to build a base for this or not.
