Very cool, neat to see early Navy vessels. Couldn't imagine working on one of those old ironclads.

Very cool! The old iron clad warships always fascinated me. What is perhaps surprising is the number of them still surviving. Some are preserved or restored: HMS Warrior (1860) Restored to "as built" condition which necessitated the removal of the poop deck fitted in 1875 Huáscar (1866) HNLMS Schorpioen (1868) HNLMS Buffel (1870) Lajta (SMS Leitha) 1872 HSwMS Sölve 1875 (Hull -and machinery? - only) Sava (Bodrog) 1904 the ship that kicked off WW1 Others are awaiting some much-deserved TLC: HMVS Cerberus (1868) Full-size floating replica: Dingyuan (1883: since this was built the wreck of the original has been located and articles salvaged) Zhiyuan (1887: Not an Ironclad but a Protected Cruiser) In addition there are many partial remains, salvaged or otherwise. There are several wrecks which could be salvaged if the resources were available and there was a desire to do so. Regards, M
