A couple of weeks ago I kept SWMBO company at her studio while a high school set up for and had a show. I took a kit with me to work on that I didn't have to pre-paint. I started the Takom 1/35 MQ-8B Fire Scout. It's an ok kit. The instructions are really vague on a lot of areas with the worst part being how to add the skids.

After much searching and thinking, I finally figured out (I hope) how the skid supports go on. I'll let those set for a while before attaching the skids. I also got the nose and top of rotor housing attached to the fuselage.

Certainly an interesting model. Never knew there was any heli drones in kit form.

Just this one. They've already retired it and went to the MQ-8C but that's not working out for the US Navy.

Good stuff, Mike.
This seems to be a natural extension of the gaming, PC driven generation...they still can sit in the basement and do stuff.
No doubt, there are times this is better than sending a pilot in harm's way, but....

Very cool kit!
Drones are a major part of the future of warfighting and it is interesting to see the rapid evolution in the technology.
All one has to do is watch some of the videos coming out of the Ukraine/Russia war to see how battlefield drones represent a paradigm shift in warfare.

Thanks guys! It's almost completely built now. I have a lot of seams to deal with though.

I love the irony of remotely watching a drone model be built.
