Love me a Corsair. Can’t wait to see this. The cockpit is looking incredibly nice.

Perhaps the headrest is too scuffed. Everything else is splendiferous!

Perhaps the headrest is too scuffed. Everything else is splendiferous! Thanks, guys! It might look like that in these enlarged pictures but I think it's ok looking at it in actual size. A lot of times with models you have to exaggerate things if you want them to be seen at all. This picture is probably more like what it really looks like. I will consider toning it down with a wash. Thanks for the input! Cheers, Jay

Thanks for the input! Cheers, Jay I think it is very accurate. Every time somebody climbs in there it is going to get grabbed, rubbed by a chute and smacked with a helmet. Looks pretty worn in almost every picture I can find.

The cockpit looks fantastic because the chipping work looks pretty realistic where damages would have been likely to occur.

This is already turning into a bit of a masterpiece with all of the detailing and realism going on in that pit Jay. I'm with Tony on that headrest looking about right. Will be looking forward to more of this Corsair progress bud.

Thanks, fellows! I appreciate the reference pics. I’m happy with the headrest now for sure. Unfortunately I have to put this one hold for a bit. I either misplaced the J sprue, exhaust stubs, or it was missing from new. I called Tamiya USA and it’s not in stock. They said they would let me know when it’s available. Worst case would be doing it with closed cowl flaps where they wouldn’t be seen anyway, at least that’s what it looks like to me. Plenty of other things to work on of course but I was really getting into this one so a little disappointing.

I do hope you get this one sorted out as I am really liking what you've been doing with this build Jay. Will be watching for future efforts on this modern art masterpiece.

Awesome mate, I build the same one and enjoyed it to the max, mine was replicated to Gregory "Pappy" Boyington's plane. I'm really looking forward to see more pictures.
