Doing this for a group build over on SPAM....I set the Kenworth aside for a bit. Needed a break from it. This little feller is on the bench of chaos.  I needed something with easier to follow instructions.   And, I've gotten a little bit done.   I like how the springs turned out. Steel with brown wash, but I know that they will need to be repainted after the hull is painted...unless I can get some tape on them. |

Tamiya kits are my go-to reset button when I’m getting burned out on a complex build.

Unpainted spring steel in the South Pacific would not stand up well for long. |

Oh those are the kit parts painted in steel… not actual metal springs rep,acing the kit parts. And here I was getting excited for him! I remember that the kit springs are not molded onto the hull. I’ve built a few of these… |

Yeah, there is much to like about link and length tracks. The only real advantage indy tracks have over L&L is that the end connectors usually have better definition. Still, the Modelkasten tracks I posted were easy to clean up and build. I do worry about solvent based washes damaging the delicate connector pins. |

I 3d printed a set of workable tracks for mine. I had mine in a diorama knocked out with the tracks broken and sagged over the return rollers. Probably really hard to do that with the old rubberbands

finally getting a bit of time at the Bench of Chaos, I almost couldn't find it. There are a ton of little bitty, teensy tiny pieces parts on this thing. my old arthritic hands, bad eyes and rotten temperment have made it interesting. I, along with the other personalities, will get there, though. Some great arguments. Slow and steady.   |

Yes Lyle,can understand about not wanting to bucks for AM tracks on every build,do what your comfortable with.I have Dragon version somewhere in the stash I need to look at too.
