Any idea why I keeps seeing the codes on other members posts, rather than the actual smiley? Is there an option on the dashboard or settings that I need to turn on?
The funny thing is - if someone else quoted the above, I'd see it on their post?
Confused...

Confused... Hey Stuart. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and where it says Dashboard and Desktop, click Desktop and you'll see the smileys.

Hi Joe,
I had a look at that, but these are the only options I have at the bottom of the page...

Stuart, what Joe was suggesting is on your profile page and is on the lower right corner.

Click on profile at the top of the page. Upper right click on Edit Profile. Upper left click on Settings Scroll down and make sure that "Smiles Default" is checked as enabled. Save at bottom of that page.

Click on profile at the top of the page. Upper right click on Edit Profile. Upper left click on Settings Scroll down and make sure that "Smiles Default" is checked as enabled. Save at bottom of that page. That setting is enabled on my profile. I still see only the secret codes.

Okay so tried that - I should point out that I can see the smileys you can select on the post menu, buit I still can't see ones like below (although, note how it comes up in a quote?)

Check to see if you have smileys enabled. Click on Profile at the top of the screen Click on Edit Profile at the top right Click on the Settings tab and check this value setting

That is how my settings are. Could be device related…

Okay I figured it out. I was able to recreate the issue by changing the forum theme. I tried them all and the only one that renders the smileys is MSC 1 Click on Profile at the top of the screen Click on Edit Profile at the top right Click on the Settings tab and check this value setting (change to MSC 1 like this) Click save give it a try. ADMINS: Maybe a config setting for the other themes?

Good news. ADMIN - a quick browse on proboards themes indicates the smileys are per theme - maybe have to copy the images to each theme?

So, on mobile, switching to MSC1 theme does not work...still get the text codes. Unless you switch to desktop mode. 🤔

Thanks for all the advice Gents - although alas nothing seems to work... No biggie, it's not an issue I just thought it was strange.
I should clarify however, that I don't have an issue seeing these smileys...
Cheers Guys.

Even my PC on old Scratchmod mode won't show smilies, so be aware of that Stu.

Only "MSC 1" renders smileys correctly.
