I wish! Trying to see if there's any way I can make next year in Virginia work (that's "local" to me, hahaha). Otherwise I'm waiting until I retire. Ugh.

Yeesh!! As bad as I want to, my pocketbook says "not this year". If anyone is anywhere in the vicinity of this show or can afford the trip, my advice is to GO!! You will have a great time looking at all of the builds from across the world and get to meet up and talk to not only fellow modelers but folks from this forum as well. I had a FANTASTIC time at the last Nats with Mike ( Medicman71) , Brian ( chromdome35) , Russ( rbaer) , Terry ( mrt51) and Steve ( modelcrazy). I took 9 models for the show, didn't win a thing and it didn't bother me a bit because I had a memorable time with my friends from here as well as meeting some new folks like Martin ( emdee406) and Daniel ( gomeral). Good times!! |

It is a 8-9 hour drive it seems. I’d love to make one someday, but my wife’s health and our anniversary is the 18th. That probably would not be well recieved.

We're not going to go this year either. The flight to Wisconsin us just too much and it's far to much of a drive with really nothing to see on the way. Virginia next year is a definite possibility though. I probably won't have anything to bring then either.

I am hearing rumors that 2026 Nats will be at Ft Wayne, Indiana. Is there any truth to this?
I’m starting to see gorgeous model photos trickling out from the Nats. Looks like quality is high this year.

Well, at least we are not getting slammed by the bad weather like on the mainland. But seriously, yeah I tend to only venture as far as the west coast. I did go to Columbus, mostly for the USAFM, and Orlando because my friends wanted to go. But not to Disney World - we went to Epcot, rode some outdated rides, took a monorail tour of the area, and ate at a restaurant. Nobody wanted to pony up the park entrance fee just to stand in line for 1-1/2 hours in the blazing sun and sweltering humidity for a 5 minute ride. I suppose there is good from bad - more time to work on our “Nationals” projects! |

Guys, Sorry for being slow! Yes, Brian and I got to connect in Madison and we had great times despite that we were only able to hold hands for only 3-4 hours!!!  With my hectic work schedule I was able to attend the show for half day on Thursday then for another half day on Friday before I had to return home to work over the weekend. What can I say about the show? It was one of the BEST shows I have been to so far.... I think there were close to 3,000 entrees and many of them were very well built! I wasn't able to see everything unfortunately... they closed the exhibition room an hour early unexpectedly so that screwed up my plan to see everything. Really you would need two full days to enjoy the show!  The vendors room was just GREAT! My budget was limited and I did my best not to spend more than $250 this time. Boy, it wasn't that easy! You can see Brian drooling in the picture below...  Things are crazy at the office this week so I will do my best to post more pictures. |
