WIP Hasegawa 1/72 P-47D-11

Here is another side project I have going on this year—the old Hasegawa p-47 in 72nd scale. Markings will be 353rd FG a/c YJ-X Little Demon.
I 3d printed some bits for the engine to make it look a bit more realistic.

It's not the Tamiya kit for sure...but it sure seems to be going together well! Love me a white cowling. Haha.

Well only half the cowling will be white when I am done

The additions you put into the engine are going to make a good difference given the fact that the engine is easily seen on this aircraft. You're putting some classy work into this small scale beauty Chris.

Here she is. Designed and 3d Printed the stand.  I goofed up and put a star and bar on the wrong wing. I have never done that mistake before and not sure how I did it this time -- I can only think it had to do with decaling past my bend time with no coffee...
Well I decided to just leave it be since this was just a for-fun shelf model.

That came out awesome!!! Fantastic work. I really like the paint scheme. And very cool work on the base too. Looks nice

Great finish....even with the goof .  Alot of Thunderbolts had the double insignia anyway

I’ve only ever seen that on the lower wings though…

Great looking stand! As far as the decal it's one of those whaddyado things. I think the P-47 turned out really well

Yep that bogus bonus insignia layed down so beautifully — could not bear the thought of removing it!

Now that's an impressive build in such a small scale Chris (cbaltrin).  I've done the exact same thing with putting the wrong star in the wrong location on a build in the past so don't feel like the Lone Ranger there. lol

Thanks Joe! I may do a few more of these in the near future, but using the Academy kit, and if I can find some interesting decals in this scale.
