Tamiya 1/48 Kawasaki Ki-61-Id Hien Finished

The Tamiya 1/48 Kawasaki Ki-61 Hien (Tony) is now done! This was a really nice kit (Like all new Tamiya) I had added a Quinta Studio 3d decal cockpit parts and resin wheels and guns from Eduard. 
Paints used was from Mr. Color, Tamiya and Alclad II.

Detailing and paint work on this are masterfully done Clint and this sucker looks like the real deal because of it. Beautiful work on every level to include that base. VERY cool!!

   That was how I approached Luftwaffe schemes at first and once I got the hang of it.....I found out that it wasn't all that bad.

Is really easy, some ak ground paste, mod podge and static grass added with my home made applicator

Thank you! I was so scared to start the camo, but it went down easily. I used 3000 grit sandpaper to remove any overspray and destress the camo

Looks really nice, Clint. My first thought when I saw the grass was the airplane had slid into a rice field, that's the color rice is when it is almost ready for harvest. But it's good as grass, too. I need to learn how to do that.
