I was dead set on doing a gloss white trainer until I saw this gloss black beauty - now I'm torn... Thoughts? or

The black ones often fly over my house, they do practice approaches at SMF. I like the black as well and took a lot of detail photos of one at an Edwards Open House. But when I built the Wolfpack kit I went with white. Nostalgia, I guess.

Have you seen the black scheme with red markings?

Big fan of the black. Red letters or otherwise.

Ya, I've got this decal sheet with a couple more options. Plus the kit comes with the Holloman gloss black bird decals. So far the kit is going together nicely... may have to build another one www.caracalmodels.com/cd48057.html

I have several of the T-38 Caracal Decals sheets and two Trumpeter T-38 kits. One of them HAS to be a Randolph AFB jet since I grew up around there.

Not much to show just yet Joe. Preliminary painting on the pit and decals. It's a nice combo of ip relief and decals that fit right over. The need a flat coat, but looks pretty good - almost 3d'ish Nothing is glued yet. Fuselage fit is pretty good, some small visible gaps but manageable. More concerned on avoiding a step on her flat aft underbelly - that would be on me though.

Very nice cockpit! Good luck on the fuselage halves. I attempted to build this once but the fuselage halves are a nightmare to get together without steps.
