Tamyia 1:48 F4U4 Corsair - Pappy Boyington’s Ride

After binge watching Black Sheep Squadron a few years back, I decided to do a little diorama of Boyington’s ship #883.  Excuse the plastic palm trees 







Un-retouched photo of model superimposed on a background showing an actual pacific squadron


Some scratch build done in the wheel wells with hydraulic lines and brake lines to the wheels - done with sections of , yes , solder. (because of flexibility)

Man, I loved watching re-runs of that show with my Dad growing up. This is awesome. Fantastic work on one of my favorite planes of WW2

Watching Black Sheep Squadron was a weekly ordeal in our house growing up. Dad was a HUGE fan of that show and I practically grew up with Pappy and his crew onscreen. lol.

What you've done with this model here is nothing short of spectacular Jack and your photography is equally as good. You pulled off some fancy footwork on that paint scheme as well. What paints did you use on this?

Airbrushed in Tamiya flats and silvered with AK pencil
