Tamiya Extra Thin
I had a bottle or two of the cleaner and thought I’d give it a try. My spillage volume is less since getting a couple of jar holders from Floki. I filled a mostly empty jar of TET and off I went.
I had some issues with stickage today on the Packard in the same manner as I did on the Huey’s seat assembly. Seems that if the surface had been glued before, it took longer to set and the create a good bond. Once it dried thoroughly, seems to be okay.
Now you guys know that the same two ingredients are in both, just ina slightly different percentage. In the cleaner acetone is 49%, in the cement it it 51%.
I’m wondering if the small difference is the problem?
Any thoughts

I’ve been using it for a few months now. Bought a bottle of the stuff and have been refilling my jar of Extra Thin cement as needed. No noticeable difference between the two in my experience so far.

I also specifically bought a bottle of the cleaner and topped off my TET which was basically empty. Also no noticeable difference on my end.

I have done the reverse for years. I use the last half inch of the bottle TET as a brush cleaner since it will clean out even the toughest of paint no matter what type. Never though of doing the reverse and using the cleaner as cement but it would save a pile of cash since it is far cheaper than the TET.

When I run out of TET, I'm probably going to be re-filling that cool little bottle with MEK and start using that.

I've been using Tamiyas Lacquer thinner as glue.Same ingredients, it's as fast as the glue and 5 times the amount.

I noticed the other day that TET quick drying contains MEK, hadn’t checked out the Tamiya lacquer thinner. I have a bottle so..
