My first car 58 Plymouth Belair

I’m looking to build my first car it was the 58 Plymouth. Blue with a white top. Push button transmission. Anyway if anyone has a tip on a decent kit let me know

If a two door then the best and easiest kit to find would be the "Christine" release. I don't think I have ever been in a hobby shop that didn't have at least two of these on the shelf.







BUT...


If not a 2 door Belvedere I don't think there is much hope of finding anything.

I believe Tony is correct. If it's a '58 Belvedere 2 door then you're in luck. If its a 4 door then not so much. On the bright side, if it is that '58 Belvedere it has been released many times and has some decent detail. Definitely not one of AMTs worst offerings. I've seen some really nice builds of that one.

My concern is AMT quality. I have several AMT. kits and am a little disappointed with the overall fit. Meaning the parts don’t seem to fit together well and often the excess spru waste that I need to shave off. It could be I just got some lemons and I don’t want to disparage the company but I’m more inclined to stay with Tamiya and others like Airfix there are other brands that I find do are excellent kits.

The Plymouth kit is one of their better ones.  It isn’t an old promo mold like many of their kits.  It is the only game in town for what you are after.

Tony has hit on it again here. This is one of AMTs better offerings from what I’ve seen and heard. Amt will never be Tamiya quality but they do have some pretty good kits amidst all the rough ones.
