I’m going to enjoy following along with this. I have two of them to build myself.

John, I'm really looking forward to following your build. I've got this kit in my stash as well with another one on order. I'm really thinking of going with another 2023 car with decals from Indy Cals as Salvino jr isn't going to do every car.
Scotty's car in the Penzoil markings is such an iconic scheme it was a no brainer to be my 1st of several builds.

I wish I’d waited about an extra week and preordered this one instead of the first issue Newgarden. I keep mentioning it but The faded paint scheme doesn’t do it for me. Pennzoil one is much better. I will source some different decals for my Chevy kit. Sato will likely be my first build of this kit.

Kyle I'm going to email Michael @ Indy Cals and ask him if his decals are close enough to the 1/20 scale Salvino jr Indy Cars to work. He states that all Of the current Indy Car decals were made to fit the 1/18 scale Die Cast cars. I really don't see why they won't as the official die cast cars are pretty accurate. And since the current Dallara chassis has been used in its basic form since 2012, there's a lot of decal options from him to choose from. Plus, and for me this is a biggie, the Salvino jr. decals were sourced from Slick decals which I've used before and are excellent, but as I understand it in order to get the contract from Indy Cars the kits had to be buildable without the need to paint, so even with the Larsen car you've got huge color decals to deal with. I'm hoping that Michael offers even some of these cars with just the printed decal and lets up paint the cars as we always have.

They will probably be very nice to use. But I definitely hear you on the large color sections. I’m looking forward to seeing some more of them built up but the couple I’ve seen look really nice even with the big decals.

My kit is still shrink wrapped so I haven't actually seen the decal sheet 1st hand. joel

Cracked it open today. This is my first Salvinos Jr kit and the plastic is pretty thick. So far no complaints. Tires are awesome.

The right side gas filler plug was a bit fiddley and will require some attention

The tires do look fantastic John. Some of the nicest out of the box tires I’ve seen. Can’t wait to follow along with this one. And Joel, when you crack yours open and take a look you’re going to like the look of the decals. They’re very nice sheets.

Kyle, Will do. One of my decal concerns is that there's next to no base color that the actual decals espeically the strips are printed on. Big, massive decals have always been a tough act for me.

John The Cardon Fiber pan looks great. Just how many decals did it take for the full coverage? joel

I'm up to 8 or 10 so far and thats just the top of the pan. They do lay down nice and react nicely to setting solution. Hoping those ejector pin marks won't be visible 🤔

The process of applying carbon fibre is probably my least favorite so I feel your pain lol
