When James ( project510) first started this build a couple of months ago, I just knew we were all in for a ride. Watching it get built and in the way it has turned out along with the dio base that he's put together for it has been true joy. I don't believe we've had too many rail related subjects get built here outside of military related trains but this one has earned it's spot at the top of the page here at MSC. Outstanding attention to detail, good usage of color and a magnificent execution of scenery give this model just the right look. Your son is going to LOVE this when you present it to him. This was awesome work! One of the best smoke displays ever to top it all off 🥳🥂 Thanks! This is the 2nd or 3rd time a random dollar store purchase has come through. When we go our favorite family restaurant for dinner out, it is usually followed up with a dollar store visit since its next door and I will randomly see something I think I can use. In this case, it was clear plastic balloon sticks. I grabbed them because they were clear, plastic tubes for $1.25. I heated it up with the heat gun while rolling it over a rounded area. I also had a tube bender insert inside it so as it bent it held its shape. Then i just used spray adhesive and poly fil which was painted gray and flat black. |

Also, I know we do not have anyone mentioning it on here, but some may notice I only put decals on one side. My son is VERY particular with his design of things. So As this is a display and not a toy, I gave him two options. One has the Union Pacific decals and one side does not. He can change his mind all he wants we can just turn it the other direction.

Nice! From the looks if it, they are very nice. I didnt want mine to look brand new and clean.. but it still does look nice.
