And now for something completely different. At least for me. Joined in on a 48 hour group build this weekend. Figured I could build this between finishing decals on the F14 and working on my open wheel stuff. Scalemates claim this is a new tool Moebius in 2009 but I think they just cleaned up the old Aurora molds. Or maybe just copied them. 14” long when built and featuring no interior it is very simple. I snagged it from the local hobby shop out of a previously owned lot. Just now discovered there is no clear sprue. That’s ok. No interior anyways. So, I glued the halves together. Then I used some evergreen rod to make the iconic split on each side of the window openings. And then I used some thin evergreen sheet behind the openings. I’ll just black these out as there’s nothing to see anyways. The cool base that I’ll have to try to turn into the ocean floor… Finally I hit it all with a black base. More later after I awaken.

Great start on a not bad kit! I'm excited to follow your build! The Moebius kit is a new mold, not the old Aurora kit. The Aurora Seaview is too short, they did that so it would fit in an existing box! The Moebius kit is very different, its longer, the tail is much different (both in the shape and the fins), the hull details are very different, the sail is different in both location and size, the shape of the bow and the windows are very different. I built both a few years back at the same time and the they are night and day. The Moebius kit gave me fits, not because of the kit but because I was doing major mods to it. I believe I painted the Moebius kit ghost grey on the top and light grey on the bottom. The Aurora (Polar Lights) kit was medium grey on the top and light grey on the bottom.

That is really cool looking! loved watching that show growing up. Thank you! It was a cool show for sure. More updates soon! Great little build, the show and the movie were good for their time Fun show and movie for sure. And a cool little quick kit to build. Great start on a not bad kit! I'm excited to follow your build! Thank you very much for these photos!! Very cool. Your builds look great!! Didn’t realize the Moebius was that much longer. I knew the front windows were different from the Aurora release but thought Moebius maybe just redid some things. The very similar looking bases were making me wonder the most. It’s super cool to see them both built up together. I’ve been trying to decide how I want to paint the sub and the base. I’ll play around with it later.

The Moebius 350th Seaview benefits from the work they did on the big Seaview kit they released earlier. I think the shapes of the Moebius is very close to the big TV Seaview.
The stand is a copy of the later, '70s Seaview Aurora release.
I really like the new window dividers you added, a little detail that really add a lot.

Oh man that big Moebius one is awesome but where would you put it? Lol. And thank you!! Its in the stash, as you say it will be very hard to display. For a while I considered a R/C conversion for it, But I think that sub has sailed, so to speak. This is the underside of mine, the flying sub bay is a photo etch set from Paragraphix, as is the nose interior. You can see the light grey on the underside, I believe is is light ghost grey.

Now that is very cool. I love the addition of the interior bits and the flying sub!! I decided I liked how it looked in a darker color so I just went with a dark gray on top and I think light ghost gray underneath. I’ll have photos soon. Just got busy this weekend.

Very nice work!
Again, the small window mod works/looks great!
I've never painted the propulsion tubes light grey, I really like how it looks. Nice work on the base also.
Thanks for sharing the build.

Thanks for sharing the build. Thank you!! I really appreciate you following along and sharing your experiences with the Seaview kits. The paint job I just wanted to do something a little bit different so I thought the darker top gray and the diffferent propulsion tubes would be a cool look. I’m very pleased with it and really had a good time building it.
