Just wanted to share some of my completed race car models

  Just thought that I'd share some of my completed race cars over the last few years with all of you.  All are basically out of the box with most having Indy Cal decals.

Those are real beauties! Curious - what class of racing is the 7-11 car?

I believe that was IMSA GTP from the early 80's

Thanks for stopping by and checking out some of my past oldie but Goodie builds.

The kit was the Old Monogram 1/24 scale 1984 Ford Mustang 7-11 GTP car that ran in the IMSA series. I'm pretty sure that it won it's 1st race entered, but never won again. I'm also some what semi sure that the Ford Probe was the next Ford GTP car.

IMSA GTP.  It first appeared as a LHD car, won at Road America. Then it became a RHD the next year. Weird or what?

I didn't know that about the wheel location. Wonder why they did that?

I was told it was because they swapped the engine turbo around, so they changed to RHD to make it all fit.  I really don't know.

That's some fine work. Joe told me there are a lot of talented auto modelers here. This is a nice taste of what he apparently meant.

Now that's one heck of a build. Just love it. Is this the original kit decals or Michael's from Indy Cals?

And don't even give it a 2nd thought of high jacking this post. Your build adds a great deal to it.

Indycals. And they were some fun to apply - not! You know how much I hate decals, lol. It was a cool paint scheme though. Weird car.

  You're not kidding that the car was just plain weird for its time.  Must have been pretty hard for the driver to actually see the apex of the turns seating so far back.  

  Fora guy that hates decals and decaling, your builds constantly prove you wrong.
