Fantastic. If I built armor, that's how I'd want them to turn out. Great pics too.

Thank you, gentlemen. I appreciate your kind words, support, and encouragement.
I put a lot of myself into this project, but I don’t know how to talk about that without coming off like a pretentious doofus. At least, I’m afraid I’d come off that way. But it’s true- I have a lot of myself tied up in this thing. For the last three years I guess you could say that either I’ve been in a creative slump, or totally unmotivated, or Hell- stupefying in an inner marsh of ennui, take your pick.
I wasn’t happy with any of my methods for doing anything, and I had to reflect and make changes. I’m glad that I was able to come up with a vision and execute it and bring it to life, and I appreciate y’all stopping in with the good word, thank you!

Well, I'd say you've had a successful reboot, Kenny. That Panzer is a beauty! 👏 It sure looks great and obviously you're pointed in the right direction with the results here! Bravo!
Many years ago (1975), I flunked out of the University of Texas at Austin; I was an undisciplined layabout who put very little effort into school, and it showed. Twenty years later, I returned to college and following the example of the Seinfeld Show character, George Costanza, I did the very opposite of everything I had done previously. And it worked.
Sometimes, we have to just make a clean start with a whole new approach! 👍

Sometimes, we have to just make a clean start with a whole new approach! 👍 Gary, It’s good to know you, bud. I was an absolute layabout in school when I was a kid. ZERO motivation. ZERO desire to be there…. Except for English class, and Art class. I lived for English and Art. I did good in College during the brief time I was there, but I was an Art student…. still, I dropped out and started an IT career. And just like you, I had to be the exact opposite of who I was. I related so well to that “Seinfeld” allegory you talked about, oh man. That’s 110% what it was for me back then… And it is ABSOLUTELY what I did here. Like, before I was black basing stuff (which is great) and I was going to extremes with these heavily modulated, weathered looking paint schemes right up front, and then I was using lots of paint chipping and filters and every technique I used just stood out and hollered “Hey! Look what this jackass just learned how to do!!” I overdid it all so badly it just came out so garish… I have a lot of respect for the modelers who can use those effects tastefully and with subtlety. I never could. So yep! I went back to the beginning for a fresh start, doing the opposite just like you said! And it worked. So carrying on from here, more refinements. More subtlety. I can introduce new effects, but keep those subtle as well.

I’d say your creative reboot has really shown through in all the best ways Kenny. You nailed everything with this one as far as I’m concerned. Sure glad you got back to the hobby and that you’re feeling good about it also. Glad you’re here sharing it with us too.

Another stunning build! North Africa Campaign is one of my favorites to follow and you hit home run on this. I like the North Africa Campaign as well. The subjects that come from it fascinate me. I’ll be doing some Allies stuff from North Africa as well in the near future, armor and aircraft. Thank you for the kind words. Hitting a home run as you say feels really good. I’m happy that I had an accurate vision and was able to pull it off.

Maybe we should do a Group Build just for North Africa Campaign here and the members will have so many choices to build... armors, planes, ships and even figures too!

I was thinking of an Afrika Korps Schwimmwagen as a joke, but apparently such a thing did exist! Cheers, M
