That’s a big old beast. Very cool. Cockpit details are excellent. Great start!

What is a good deal anymore? Kit was just under 100 delivered, plus the quinta set, some masks and an Eduard PE set before I found the Quinta stuff. Way too much money. The fuselage doesn't fit very well at all. As is not my usual method, I did test fit dozens of times, sanded, cajoled and just about brought out the hammer. There will be an ugly seam down the spine and belly. I did see some other complaints on the fuselage fit, so maybe it wasn't all me. Maybe weathering will hide it.l

Well, if my achy-breaky hands hold out, we are tackling this step this morning. . . . Nacelles and fuel tanks are on. Now this.

Yes! I'm glad to see you wrestling this big bird again Lyle! Thanks Brent! I never really stopped, per se, just set it down for a day and drank (coffee) and picked it back up. Going slow on purpose - 1) I can't afford to screw it up to much and 2) I'm trying to make myself learn some patience doing this...taking a 5-10 min break, reasting my neck and hands, letting the glue set, etc.

Good to see you making some progress on this Lyle, and good to see you learning on how to work around your hands. Resting them regularly is a good idea.

These Trumpy kits will give even the most patient guy a run for their money.

The cockpit looks stellar. That’s going to be one big model. I’ve always wanted to see one of these built. I’d love to get my hands on one. Thanks for posting.

this thing is inching along...not sure if it towards completion or the trash can....The fit is horrible. The other side is flush and fits. My goal is to just get it off t he bench. One way or another. Rotors and decals are about all that is left.

I'm hoping to see it finished, too. My unit got CH-47A's during the last year I was in. I can still smell the Mil-H-5606A.

Keep it slow and steady and try not to just slap it together to get it out from in front of you as you've put a LOT of effort into this kit. Looking forward to the next update bud.

The cockpit looks stellar. That’s going to be one big model. I’ve always wanted to see one of these built. I’d love to get my hands on one. Thanks for posting. Thank you so much. It is a shame more of it will not be visible. I am sorry about the horrible fit but I hope it inches towards completion!! It’s really cool!! I wish I had better skills at fixing this stuff. I'm sure that it is a result of one piece being off by a "hair", then another, etc. It then all adds up, I guess. Some is just crappy fit, though. I believe I bit off more than I wanted on this one. Great fill work Lyle.... get her done. I really want to see this big bird done! Thanks you. This was some slivers of flat stock and some PPP....not perfect but good enough. I'm hoping to see it finished, too. My unit got CH-47A's during the last year I was in. I can still smell the Mil-H-5606A. Over the last few months, I've learned to put it down and go do something else when it gets to me. I'll get it, I think. Thanks, Joe. Just very frustrated with this. I guess I expected more from this kit. I'll get it. Oh boy, I have one of these in the stash, albeit being the D version... I hope I will be able to tackle it! I suffer from "What the heck was I thinking" syndrome when selecting kits. Be more patient that me, test fit everything many, many times and then some more. Some of the pictures in the instructions are very ambiguous....I have faith in you that you will pull this off.

I fueled a pile of these beasts up from almost every country that used them and I will say that without doubt your repairs around the doors are 100% accurate to many of the real things! In fact almost ANY repair you make would be accurate when they started to reach end of life. These things took a beating. You can see by the paint on this one that there were repairs done around the door just like yours.
