Sweetie’s cockpit module is entombed in the fuselage and the fuselage is on the jig! Some minor minor seam work going on but it ain’t too bad. I’ll likely have the wings on her and cleaned up this weekend. Stay tuned and thanks for looking as always!

Hey Kenny! It's great to see you modeling again! I've always enjoyed your builds and I'll be following this one as well. You have a wonderful way of describing the modeling process, especially what you are thinking instead of just "I did this and I did that". You have a great gift of narrative and it makes your posts enjoyable to read. The cockpit looks wonderful and I love what you did with the instrument panel. I actually prefer the method of applying instrument decals on hard plastic/resin over other ways including the Quinta stuff. Did you cut each instrument out with scissors or do you have access to a punch set? As far as Quinta and other aftermarket products = cheating, I don't agree with that at all. A topic for a separate discussion.

It is a blessing to me that I can could and paint stuff, and document it, and other folks appreciate it. Especially nowadays after having re-calibrated/re-tooled the framework I use for these projects. As to the IP gauges— I don’t have a punch set (but it’s on the shortlist of stuff I need, right after a Brazilian barbecue skewer which I need for grilling shawarma and Al pastor on my Weber grill). So it was just me, a scalpel, and a few cups of coffee. I’m happy with the outcome and will be moving forward with that technique on subsequent airplane builds. I never did have much luck using the whole decal on the IP.

Alright whadda we got tonight? Well, we’ve got some initial seam work, and we’ve got wings on. The fuselage seam ain’t bad at all. I can barely perceive a ghost seam there on the forward area which can easily be addressed, and the entire section aft of the cockpit is looking good. And the leading edge on the wings is nice and smooth.
I’ll wrap up what little seam work there is tomorrow, and then I will build and paint the engine and all the landing gear bits. After that, I’ll prime the airplane and get to painting that. This one built up fast. Love these kits.

Thanks y’all! in another life, I fancied myself a P&W radial engine detailer. I always tried to wire these guys, and was never permanently happy with my results mostly due to the fact that the wires weren’t coming out of ports on the ignition ring. Instead, they were glued behind it. I never liked the look of it on my engines. So I opted to forego the wiring. One day, when I figure out how to add the ports to the ring and run the wires out from them, I’ll try again. Furthermore, the aperture through which the engine will be visible is very small, too small in my opinion to justify the extra frustration for me on this project. Here it is: I’m calling that bit done. Time to get it installed with the radiator flaps and cowling I reckon.

Been there, done that and worked on the real thing (Sikorsky CH-37). The wires added detail but also so much mess that it became very unsatisfying. But each to his own, that's just my solution!

J, That’s my complaint with my engine wiring- I make a mess. Once I figure a way to do it without the mess, that’ll change things. I’m gonna experiment.
