Tamiya 1/24 Toyota Soarer 3.0 GT

So, I built this awhile ago. Actually probably don’t have more than a couple days in it. It was in between some out of state work trips back a month or two ago. Just never got around to posting it and didn’t take the time for a build log. Awesome kit though. Originally from 1986 but just recently repopped.

Ah. The 80s. I fully embraced the 80s goodness with this one. Metallic brown (from handiabled) over metallic tan. Tan interior too. Gold trimmed wheels. Just good clean 80s metallic earth colors. Lol. Really enjoyed the kit which has some great details including a beautiful little inline 6. Because of this I elected to stick with the absurd Clearview hood. It’s a model kit, why not? I thought it was a fun touch.

Very nice my friend, I gotta say that I have alot of time and respect for guys who build road 
cars because they are not easy man at all - the windshields and finish etc - not easy to do.

This looks killer and I love this era of road cars - takes me back!!

Hmm. Somehow I missed the lexan clear hoods from the 80's...Just kidding. Great looking build. It looks like a true survivor from the time. Well done!!

Nice job. Never heard of that car and yes that is 80s brown 😂. The clear hood is kinda interesting.

Thanks Brent!! One of the little mode master bottles is the main brown. Perfect. Lol. It is a nice kit.

Thanks Adrian!! I build just about anything at all. And I really love this era of cars too.

Ha!! Sometimes I like to take advantage of the fact that it’s just a model and I thought the clear hood was fun. Thank you very much!

I had to embrace the 80s John! Thank you. Couldn’t pass up the clear hood for a bit of fun. Lol.

Yes indeed. The Soarer would later be imported over here as the Lexus SC400. I always liked those cars but the lack of a manual transmission has always steered me away.

That’s a winning colour combo… the paint looks great. Nice metallic on the wheels, too.

 I'm with Tom on Diggin' the clear hood. Love how this turned out Kyle and it's good to see a car built that's not a Mustang, Camaro, Charger or some other hot rod. Paint and details turned out great man.

Thanks a bunch Joe. I do like to sprinkle in the less popular stuff sometimes. And you can’t go wrong with a Tamiya kit anytime. This was a fun one that didn’t take much time
