I’m not much help at all in this case, but I will say I love your Fury with crew. That’s too cool. Also, in my eyes the khaki color looks pretty close shade wise. I don’t I think the movie just has that dark and dingy feel so everything is sort of washed out intentionally.

Maybe vary the shade of highlites and shadows. Drybrush the boots with sand or something of the like. Knock down the brightness of the rank insignia and hit all the figures with a dead flat coat. Very cool - can't wait to see the finished product. I thought Jon Bernthal was brilliant in that film.

Paint hem like your sample picture and dust them all up like Kev said. Back then even uniforms issued at the same time could be different colours and tones and that difference would escalate rapidly depending on individual wear, washings (or NOT washing), exposure etc. The one thing I would say for sure is that the greens are too green in the model. Should be more a khaki green.

Tony, that ref pic is your key. If I was painting these in oils, not acrylics, I would mix a tone for each individual figure, if needed, and dab a test blob on that ref pic to get as close as possible. You'll go nuts trying to figure this out any other way, imo. That's how I do it.
If you're using acrylics you'll be doing the same thing, get the color close, then test it against the ref pic. I always print up ref pics for all my builds and hang them on the shelf railing right in front of my work, or on an easel at the bench.
Remember, the "paint tone counters" will drill you into the ground if it's not perfect, but I wouldn't worry about that, and I know you won't.
Please, keep us posted on your progress, love to see it. Bookmarked.
P.S. That really is an incredibly detailed ref pic, tons of info in there.
