So this one is going to be a very slow project. Like with most of my builds, I'm only working on it in-between other builds. I'm also adding a 3D printed Heavy Armed type weapon set to it. And other mods just for the hell of it. I've been working on it for several months now. I got this kit for $30 off Amazon. Originally I was just going to practice making new panel lines. Then I watched a video and that kind of changed. The lady added "flaps" to the leg thrusters and I had to try it. I'm still working through some of the details and shape. But it adds a whole new esthetic to the kit that I think is awesome. I also made the Heavy Armed kit removable. The Dom kit comes with almost all the old parts that were replaced. So I sliced and diced the old back armor piece. Used the outer pieces for the new back pack and started filling in with apoxie sculpt. I made pegs from the kits original saber holder and evergreen tubes. It still looks really rough right now. I have done literally no cleaning on most of these mods. I left the frame parts alone, I wanted to be able to use the kit back parts. And the shoulders... I think what Bandai did with this kit was awesome. But the shoulders are kinda blah. When they are moved forward they bind up on the frame. I saw a few reviewes mention this. So I just started removing plastic until they didn't bind anymore. Both the kit back part and the modified backpack cover any nastiness that might be left. Here's the Dom with the kit mostly in place... There is still a long way to go. I need to figure out panel lines. Figure out how to make the backpack stay together and move the way it's supposed to. I'm trying to find a set of aftermarket decals that seem to be completely out of print now. I will probably build a custom stand for it, the kit is very back heavy for obvious reasons. Now simmer for 2 months

I don't know why, but it has never occurred to me to modify these. I always just assumed one would simply build it. Der...it's a model, why not modify it? Cool stuff!

Oh yes, modding Gunpla is all the rage these days!
Wow $30?! The Dom usually retails here in Hawaii for around $85.

I was considering adding ground combat equipment to the Dwadge, like panzerfausts, camo netting, and zimmerit. But I do not wish to change the look of the Dwadge too much, as I love the design. Those mods to your Dom are awesome MZ3! Most inspiring. Hopefully others will jump in with more Gunpla threads to showcase their projects. Your current project has me thinking of not waiting for Bandai to do a 1/100 Zaku Desert Type, and just trying to scratchbuild the necessary parts. I have been waiting 30 years for a 1/100 kit of the type.

That would be awesome! I get the feeling if you keep Your never going to see it from Bandai.

That would be awesome! I get the feeling if you keep Your never going to see it from Bandai. It will be Pee Bandai. ☹️ In the meantime, I have this to keep me inspired. It may be old and dumpy, but the box art rocks as hard as anything from the 1980s. And it was the design that got me hooked on Gunpla.
