Hi Everyone. So after all the chaos these past couple of weeks (feels like 6 months), I needed a break and just dedicated bench time this weekend as things are about to get busy again with deer season a couple of weeks away. What could I build? what would be a great relaxing build to take up some needed breathing time? How about? Don't remember where I picked this little one up but it said build me. Kit is from 2011 and this definitely showed some wear and tear, but hey its a Tamiya! there was a lot of flash and mold seams that needed to be dealt with. Some of the small fiddlies had no mounting reference points, but a quick check with some photos and all was good. I spent most of Saturday and Sunday (took a brief trip to my LHS) and was able to get the build phase done. An extra sprue was thrown in the box with drums, jerry cans and some stowage. I need get this cleaned up and I pulled my 1/48 stowage box out to see what else Ill add. Ill have some more pics up this week. -Bob

Off to a good start Bob! I like how you check off the parts as you assemble them. I do the same.

Joe - Thank you brother. I owe you a phone call! Steve - It was solid time at the bench with no interruptions at all, heck I shut the phone off....LOL. Yup back up there this weekend to check the feeder. Got some nice healthy deer coming in. So I managed to get a primer coat down with my go to Mr. Surfacer 1500. Once cured it was time for the base coat. I'm slowly trying MMP paints and picked up a bottle of MMP-019 Dunkelgelb RAL 7028 (44-45)This was way to light to my eyes its almost a desert sand. Not liking that, I went ahead and pre-shaded on top of that and hit another base coat with Vallejo's 71-025 RAL 7028. Huge contrast difference and to my eyes this looks a lot better. Keep in mind there has been no filtering as of yet. I got the clear coat down this evening so when that cures Ill get the decals on it and proceed as normal from there. Wheels are pained up and need to be clear coated as well and will knock that out this weekend. Some stowage has been primed and still looking through the resin goodie box for some other options. Should have another update by tomorrow evening. Yes, I told my team at work its all on you, Im taking a long weekend.....LOL -Bob

Handi - Thank you buddy. I thought I was a bit nuts (well I am but...) when the MMP went down I was like no way! Dont get me wrong. I have painted a few kits in the MMP and it goes down like silk, just the shade to me was really off.
MRT - Thank you my friend, much appreciated.
Decals on, Stowage primed. Ill hit the clear coat over the decals later this evening and hit the wheels as well. Once everything is cured I can start washes and weathering.

Hi all; hope the long weekend treated everyone well. So much progress this weekend. I got some weathering done and snapped a couple of quick shots. I let that settle and then got all the tools painted up and some more weathering and hit it with flat. Stowage is painted up and clear coated now, once that cures ill add the finishing touches to those and add them to the model. More on the way. -Bob

Handi - Thank you. Its a mix of sponge and brush with acrylics, then a diluted enamel of dark brown or a red brown to add a sort of hint of rusting. Still have some more weathering to go.
